Volkswagen Group Services, s.r.o. was founded in 2008, originally under the name Autovision Slovakia, s.r.o.. The company's mission was to perform support activities in the automotive industry. Since its establishment, the company has undergone several significant transformations that have significantly influenced its further development.
One of the pilot projects of Volkswagen Group Services, s.r.o. (then Autovision Slovakia, s.r.o.) was the operation in Košice, known as SKD Košice. This project focused on inspection, disassembly and logistics processes associated with the export of vehicles transported in a disassembled state into individual parts and components to specific markets. In parallel with this project, in 2008 the company established itself through another significant project, the Process Center, as support for Group purchasing. Its main task, as the name suggests, was to provide process support to the purchasing departments in the Volkswagen Group.
In 2009, the company began providing technical support and assistance for comprehensive analyses of mass-produced vehicles at the so-called Analysis Center (Analysecentrum). The vehicles are tested under simulated stress conditions and then subjected to a detailed analysis. Since 2011, the company has been growing and developing through additional projects and services.
We take responsibility for the quality of purchased parts in the serial production process. These activities are carried out by a team of experts from the QS Project (Qualitätssicherung) department, who focus on achieving set objectives. The main goals include part quality, error prevention, reducing dimensional variability, and continuously improving part quality in a targeted manner. At the same time, production processes and products are optimized to continuously enhance quality and, consequently, customer satisfaction.
The excellent results achieved in the responsibility for the quality of purchased parts led to multiplier effects in this area. In 2012, the Sorting of Purchased Parts (Warenfilter) project department was established to manage all operational activities directly related to the physical inspection and quality analysis of parts that do not meet the required quality standards.
Within Business Services, in addition to a stabilized service portfolio in the Process Center, the company also focuses on supporting local topics for the Volkswagen Slovakia, a.s. plant. It carries out activities in the fields of Employee Training for Volkswagen Slovakia, a.s., support for the internal Purchasing department, Environmental Protection, Health Management, Locker Room Administration, and the Volkswagen Slovakia Foundation.
The company is significantly strengthening its position and taking responsibility for the Export of manufactured vehicles for Group Logistics. Its task was to take over the final product and prepare it for transport to the end customer by road, either via truck or rail transport. This project has become the largest in the company's history.
A significant milestone in the company's history occurred on the 10th anniversary of its founding when, at the beginning of 2018, the company changed its name from Autovision Slovakia, s.r.o. to VOLKSWAGEN GROUP SERVICES, s.r.o. This change is perceived as an honor and recognition of the collaboration, as well as a declaration that VOLKSWAGEN GROUP SERVICES, s.r.o. is a proud part of the Volkswagen Group, significantly contributing to building the brand's and Volkswagen company's good reputation.
The new generation of managing directors is moving the company forward, working on a strategy for 21st-century projects that require dedication, quality, determination, and intuition. The core motto is to increase competitiveness through high-quality, tailor-made services, as well as to ensure know-how within the group. The company defines four core divisions of operations – Technics, Data Engineering, Logistics, and Business Services – in which it aims to continue building and expanding its portfolio. Thanks to the appointment of responsible professionals in each area, the company is ready to build a new future.
And from 2020 onward, the newly established Data Engineering division reflects the company’s transition into a new era of providing specialized services in the automotive industry. It has taken responsibility for Cloud solutions and IT infrastructure in various essential processes and systems across the Volkswagen Group. The division is growing at an unprecedented pace, becoming the primary partner for IT solutions across multiple group brands.
The Technology division has strengthened its position in quality assurance and expanded its activities to include several supporting services. These include Planning, Quality of Pre-Series models in the Pilot Hall, and software control and compatibility of control units across different model ranges.
The trust earned through the high-quality services provided to a key strategic partner within Business Services led to the decision to entrust our company with the management and administration of the Volkswagen Slovakia Foundation as well as Labor Relations.
Logistics is also keeping pace, making a significant leap in transforming support services into specialized expertise. The year 2021 marked the launch of logistics support activities for products destined for the Malaysian market. However, a historic breakthrough came in 2022 when the Volkswagen Slovakia plant in Bratislava made a strategic decision to entrust the management of logistics dispositions for the Beta+ project to an external team rather than internal personnel. The trust placed in the Volkswagen Group Services, s.r.o. proved to be the right choice, leading to the handover of responsibility for managing further project launches, including Porsche and AUDI models.
The necessity and objectives of the Volkswagen Group's transformation towards electromobility bring new challenges for the company. As Volkswagen Group Services, s.r.o. celebrates 15 years on the market, these challenges are being addressed by the newly appointed managing directors, Juraj Kiripolský and Karina Küker.
All divisions are actively shaping and implementing the new corporate strategy, adapting to the evolving demands of this transformation. In addition, the new leadership has set an ambitious goal—expanding the company's portfolio, culminating in the establishment of an entirely new branch in the Czech Republic at the beginning of 2024, dedicated to supporting the Volkswagen Group brand ŠKODA.
